Pitch a story

We welcome pitches that help readers see a team sport more clearly: a rule explained in context, a tactical idea made legible, or a fresh way to follow the flow of a match. Send proposals through the Contact page.

What makes a strong pitch

Start with one reader question and the answer your piece would help them reach. Tell us the sport, the specific match idea and why it is useful beyond one result. A good pitch defines specialist terms, stays within its subject and does not depend on readers having attended a particular event.

Contributions we welcome

We are interested in clear explainers, thoughtful comparisons, sporting background and viewing approaches grounded in the rules and structure of the game. We do not seek match predictions, unsupported claims about player intent, or pieces that require professional advice or access we have not established.

How to send a proposal

Use the Contact page and choose the editorial question option. Include a working title, a short outline, the intended reader and any sources or rule references you expect to use. A pitch is a proposal, not a promise of publication; please do not send a complete article unless requested.
