Editorial standards
Select Match Insights aims to make team sport easier to follow through clear, careful explanations. We distinguish basic rules from interpretations and avoid presenting a disputed call or tactical reading as the only possible account.
Accuracy and clarity
We check explanations against reliable descriptions of the sport and its rules, and make clear when a detail belongs to a particular format or competition. Terms are explained in context. When an article cannot support a definite claim, it should say what remains uncertain rather than fill the gap with confident-sounding guesswork.
Independence
Editorial choices are made for reader understanding. A commercial relationship does not buy a favourable explanation, a guaranteed mention or control over editorial conclusions. We do not invent access, testing, interviews or expertise.
Corrections
Readers can flag a possible error through the Contact page. We review the point, check the relevant wording and correct material when needed. Where a correction changes the meaning of an explanation, we aim to make that change clear to readers.
Partner material and illustrations
Sponsored or partner material is labelled clearly so readers can distinguish it from independent editorial work. Any partner relationship is disclosed alongside the relevant material. Some illustrations may be generated with AI; where that is the case, they are identified as such and are not evidence of a real match or event.
The details make the match
A score tells you what happened, but the rules, roles and rhythms help show how. We make those details easier to see.
